bushing key
« on: September 11, 2013, 09:25:42 PM »
I recently bought a used 97B from 1998. I've seen some picktures that showed a bushing key or wrench to lock the barrel bushing. Am I mistaken or is it neccessary? I've been tightening the bushing with my fingers. It tightens to about 7 or 8 o"clock then I back it up to lock-up to the spring rod. Is this OK?  I would think that turning it another complete turn might strip the threads.

yeah ok I figured I could do that but the question is do I need one to tighten more than finger tight? Will using a wrench to tighten any more than finger tight strip the theads? I'm sure that the bushing is there to assist the barrel to aim accurately.

Thanks AZ-CZ. I needed some reassurance that I was doing it right.
