Running the safety
« on: September 19, 2013, 04:13:25 PM »
For your folks who are running the gun with the manual safety - is the safety nice and positive?  Or is it too easy to flick on/off?  How does it compare to a CZ 75B?  Thanks!

I guess not many take advantage of the safety.

The only time I use the safety is in matches.  IDPA in ESP.  I prefer to compete and carry the hammer down on a live round.

When you do use it, how does it feel?  Positive enough for carry?

I carry my .40 exclusively in single action.  I have small hands, so I find the safety hard to disengage with my right thumb (I am right handed).  A simple solution to this is to use your left thumb to flip the safety lever down, which is what I do 90 percent of the time.  I wish the safety lever was a little farther back and stuck out a little farther, but it hasn't kept me from carrying cocked and locked.  I feel perfectly safe/competent doing so because I practice with my weapon.

My P-07 has a safety. I'm a southpaw and the right safety has a bit of wiggle, not noticeable until you compare it to the left side. Either way, for me it has a good break when switching it on and off.

I can't comment on the 75B.
