97B-E from CGW (My New Favorite Gun)
« on: December 14, 2013, 04:21:57 PM »
I received my early Christmas present from CGW yesterday and convinced my wife to let me take it to the range for a brief outing
this morning, before she wraps it to go under the tree. I only had 60 rounds of Blazer Brass 230gr ball ammo with me, but that
was enough to tell this gun will shoot. All targets were fired at between 12 & 13 yards at my local outdoor range under very cool
and windy conditions. I've posted a few pictures to show how I did. Keep in mind this was my first outing and I am 55, I had several
cups of coffee in me and my eyesight is getting worse by the day.

Here are a couple of pictures of the gun, which is fantastic. (I couldn't spell phenomenal)
I'll let you go to the CajunGunWorks website to check out the CZ 97B-E  package to see what all
David does to these guns. What the site won't tell you is how great this guy is to work with.
David is not only a first class gunsmith, but a first class person as well. (No he didn't give me a discount to say that!)

Here are a few pictures of the gun:

Here are the first (2) targets from 12 yards rested on the top of my range bag:

The last (3) targets were from 12 yards standing free hand:

My Christmas gift was a complete CGW upgrade on my SP01 tactical. The only issue i have now is do I send the 97b in next or the P09? Either way I will have a 97b-e, it may just take a while. I'll just keep watching your post and updates on yours and plan for now. My tactical arrives tomorrow, but promised the wife I'll wait until we pick up her P09 on the 28th to go shooting.

I'm in the same boat as far as age and eyesight.  That BE should be an awesome platform for you.  Good shooting, congratulations and Merry Christmas.

Got to make a quick trip to the range today. I mostly shot 9mm and .22lr, but I did get to shoot about
half a box (all I had left) of 45acp thru my new 97B-E. Here are my 3 best targets from 12yds free hand.
(1) target was 10 rounds fired, the other (2) are 5 rounds each. I was using Federal 230gr from WalMart.
I love this gun!!

Nice shooting.  I guess the only drawback to the 97BE is the cost of feeding it.

It's really not bad if you reload.  :)

I've gotta start reloading. It's the only way to support my addiction!

Just a note to support the fact the the CZ 97B-E is far and away the best gun I've ever shot.  Got it a month ago, SAO and it is too impressive for mere words.  David is a genius with CZ's and one of the most decent, communicative and professional gunsmiths I've ever come in contact with.  Save your money; sell something but get, repeat GET this gun.  You will never regret it.  Have to force myself to shoot my H&K 45 (although the H&K 45c is very decent for a smaller 45).  But this one is special!

Brass-cased FMJ 45ACP ammo is $25 per 50 rounds in my area. Cheaper if you buy in bulk.
