Ambi-safety lever?
« on: December 19, 2013, 04:50:32 PM »
Anyone make a decent ambidextrous safety lever for the VZ.58 that attaches on the drivers-side of the receiver?

Seems like a no-brainer...

Believe nea had one in the past.
Not enough demand to produce, I suspect.
Can't blame them - the money's in the AR market... Hell, any market BUT the vz market.

I see that site is in the Czech Repulic - ordering in stuff to the US might be problematic, not sure.

Folks haven't had a problem with getting parts that's been reported.  Takes about a month, but you have to send by Western Union I think.  Not ideal, but their prices on a lot of stuff is actually lower than here, and they have items you can't get in the states.  Zahal ships from Israel and in North America, most aftermarket stuff comes from Canada, so just recognize that with a lot of VZ 58 aftermarket, international orders are status quo.  Here's the gunsmith that makes a lot of the GunExpert parts for them -- ordering from him is similar to VZ 58 rifle: http://www.zendl.cz/index.php/produscts/doplnkysa58

If ordering, I'd highly recommend mag release and tactical bolt release from them too.

Update: I ended up ordering what looks to be the same part from Corwin Arms out of Canada a week ago. Also purchased the Czech special forces muzzle brake (flash hider and brake!).

They're out of stock on the muzzle brakes already though...
