I just purchased a 22/45 combo the other day. The .45 shoots like a dream....perfectly zeroed left and right and up and down. My only wish would be for a day-glo front sight option.....my old eyes have to really focus to get the sight picture right on.
When I changed out for the .22 upper I shot 1 round and then a jam. My mistake....I was using Remington Golden bullet from a bulk pack. Even though the slide is aluminum, that's a lot of mass for a .22 to cycle. Next trip to the range, I used some Aguila super power .22 ammo...1280 fps advertised. Now we are talking!! Gun cycled, functioned, fed and ejected every round. After 100 rds of Aguila I once more tried Remington. Now the Golden Bullet is running fine too. I guess the gun needs to wear in a bit before perfect functioning is achieved. My Ruger 22/45 Mark III shoots slightly tighter groups, but accuracy was OK for the Tanfoglio. The slide never locked open after the last shot no matter what ammo was used, but I'll work on that later. I'm happy with my purchase.
