Recoil Spring
« on: April 15, 2014, 08:28:17 AM »
What's the standard recoil spring on a CZ83 in .380 ACP?  I put a 14 pound spring from Wolff, but I might go up.  Thanks.

Like the other answers, 14.5 lbs. is the standard.  The Wolff spring kit contains a 14.5 lb., a 16.0  lb. and an 18.0  lb..  I bought the kit to try to reduce the number of miles my brass is thrown, and tried both the 16.0 and the 18.0.  The difference between the two was minimal, so I too opted for the 16.0.

My experience about brass getting flung all over creation mimics yours

Flinging brass? Phooey. You've apparently never fired a vz.52 7.62x25. Those babies fling the brass!  ;D

I have seen videos of that particular fire breather's attempts to put brass into orbit.  I would have to agree.

I haven't found the spring weight to affect recoil so much, but it does keep the ejected brass from going orbital.
