P-07 380?
« on: December 27, 2014, 02:41:59 AM »
I was in Mexico City at a military facility and had the chance to try out some SDN (mex ARmy) weaponry - one was a CZ P-07.  The surprising thing was that it was a 380.  Does anyone know if we will see a P-07 in 380 available here in the states?

By the way it was very accurate.
Just getting started!

Unlikely. IIRC, 9mm is banned in a number of South American countries which is why .380 is popular there.

.380 ammo Is so expensive. Wife had ruger .380 and we sold it cause the ammo was the same price or close to a box of .40's.  She bought a XDS .45..

What would be the point of such a puny cartridge in a pistol the size of a P-07?

I don't even see the point of the cartridge itself, since 9x19 can be had in some very, very concealable pistols and since the 158 gr 38 Special +P does a hell of a job in S&W J frames.

As already stated, there are countries where civilians can't shoot 9mm + some people prefer the lower recoil of .380
