How to value a Custom Shop 75B SA Target?
« on: May 15, 2014, 12:41:04 PM »
Good Morning Forum!
My question is, how to value a used CZ Custom Shop gun?
Just picked up a 2009 CZ 75 B SA Target model.
Has been fired but overall excellent condition with the Custom Shop marked grips.
I got it from the original owner and verified he paid $1100 new.
I will try and get a picture posted ASAP.
This pistol is not for sale at this time.

Well,  this was a standard custom shop offering in 2009.

That's pretty vague. It doesn't say what kind of hammer or springs. The way I look at it is to someone that can do the work them selfs its only worth the base gun price plus parts like the sights, grips, and so on. Maybe worth more to someone that would seen there gun off to have work done.

If you already purchased the gun.......haven't you already established the value to you?

Thanks for the input. :)
I was looking forward, a few months,  to when I may need to sell it but, at that point,  I will just let the auction forces on Gunbroker decide the price.
There are very, very few of these Custom Shop Target models available anywhere on the "used" gun market, primarily because anyone with good sense will hang onto theirs.
Hopefully I will be able to hang onto this one.
Have a nice day. ;D

It's very difficult for me to appraise one without seeing it in person.  To be blunt, I always assume that someone with a pistol like that probably shot the @#$% out of it.  I'm not saying you or the original owner did, as I have no way of knowing.  I would have to assume that I am not alone in my basic approach/prejudices, however.

If I was willing to spend what the pistol is theoretically "worth," then I would be willing to have CZC do exactly what I wanted to my existing SA or a NIB specimen.  If I were going to buy a pistol like that, I would buy it from someone I know, which seems to be how you acquired it!

Yes, that is how I acquired it.
Original owner put less that 300 rounds through it.
He owns a LOT of high end guns and this was lost on the back of his safe since 2010.
 Lucky me. ;)
