Considering P-07 purchase.
« on: July 20, 2014, 08:07:42 PM »
I am looking to upgrade from my current SAR K2P 9mm and am interested in the CZ P-07 Duty in 9mm. I would like to know if this would be a worthwhile purchase or will I be buying the same gun just another manufacturer. I am not at all dissatisfied with the K2P I just want to add to the collection.

The P07 is a great handgun.
I don't carry but if I did I would definitely carry the P07. It is very accurate. Takes 400 to 50o rounds to break in.

Never shot a k2p but have held one. The p07 feels better in my hands. Which are average at best. From what I've read the p07 has a better trigger and shoots softer than the k2p but the k2p has better sights

I have both and prefer the P-07; better ergos, handling, trigger, & accuracy for me.

Now not to be a fly in the ointment but, the more that I carry and fire my Grand Power P1 Mk7 the more my like for this pistol turns into love. Talk about a sleeper! But that is a discussion for elsewhere....

Anyway, between the CZ and Sarsilmaz, at the end of the day without a doubt the P-07 carries much more comfortably for me, as I wear IWB and, seated most of the day. And if you told me I could only pick one of these 2 pistols, hands down the CZ. YMMV

Add it to your collection!

Rhino I too am a clone owner looking at getting a PO-7 or PO-9. I don't have a K9 but have shot one. I have a Tristar C100. I would like a light rail and can't make up my mind between another Canik/Tristar or a CZ P series. Let us know what you do and if you get a PO-7 tell us if you like it better.

I went from a K2P, which I loved, to a CZ P07 a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I had to sell the SAR to do it. I would have kept it if I could have. That being said, the P07 is a definite upgrade IMO. The version I have(2014 I believe) has the metal night sights, replaceable backstraps, safety or decocker option, and the lanyard loop (which I could do without).... feels great in the hand like the SAR, but is much more streamlined and comfortable to carry. Someone mentioned the sights; I liked the fully adjustable rear sight on the SAR, but I didn't like the sight picture...front sight filled the notch and I preferred a little space around the front blade.
They both shoot like a dream and I think the trigger on the CZ is a little better. I have about 500 rounds through it and the double action pull is smoothing out to the point where I am more accurate with it than I was with the SAR. It does stack a little but less than the K2P and the single action pull and reset is about the same. I decided to stick with the decocker as the safety lever is not big enough for me to comfortably ride with my thumb and won't engage with the hammer down, I liked that on the K2P.
If you can get the CZ and keep the SAR as well, it's a win-win in my book.

I'm also considering a P07 or P09 as my first handgun. This site is full of great information. Looking at getting one in 40 possibly 9, wish they had a conversion barrel out so I could buy a 40 and drop in the barrel and shoot 9...

Get ya either, I just prefer the P-07, especially since a little smaller than the P-09 and easier to carry IWB.
