CZ gave up entirely on Safety model Lightweight?

Gee... I thought there was hope for CZ.  The custom shop was making the very nice looking L model, and I thought there was hope for a non-neutered compact with lightweight frame.  Nothing coming?

This would be real nice----with ambi safeties for us leftys.  If we are wishing, how about without the rail?  Closest was shadowline compact but those seem to be long gone and they were railed. 

BTW, will we ever see sphinx sdp with safeties?

I know it's not a cz but you could check out a sar b6p compact. I have one and I like it a lot. It's about the same size as my cz compact but alot  lighter. It has been super reliable and accurate.  It's cocked and locked just like the cz. The trigger is heavier but a lighter hammer spring should help.

The Canik L-120 is an alloy frame SA/DA fullsize that is very nice.

Since we're in the Compact section perhaps a Canik C100 is more in line with what you're looking for.

From my experience, the quality and reliability is every bit as good as the CZ's.  One negative regarding the aluminum framed CZ75 Compacts is that they are wider than the regular CZ75 Compact.  This is in the area above the grip in the picture below (top two have aluminum frames).  The Canik aluminum framed compacts are the standard width, so they're less bulky to carry.

If you're really stuck on getting an aluminum framed CZ75 Compact, then keep an eye on GunBroker.  The two pictured below came as surplus from Israel.

Thanks.  I have a C100, and it is a good, reliable, and accurate gun. Other than having incomplete rifling and a weak trigger spring, it has proven good.  Thanks to CGW, you can actually use a decent trigger pin, and work on your gun.

I just thought CZ might pull its head out and put out a p02 or compact L as production.  I guess it makes too much sense.
