CZ Shadow T
« on: April 27, 2014, 12:15:49 PM »
Angus/Stuart/Rob,

I don't see the Shadow T with the adjustable sight on your product list any longer.  I bought the pistol based on your ad on good faith that it was suitable for SSP in IDPA.  I have sent the following to CZC and IDPA on numerous occasions and have yet to see a response.  Could someone please address my question below?

I've been using my CZ Shadow T in IDPA for about 2 years in local club matches in SSP.  I plan on using the gun in some sanctioned matches this year.  I just happened to look in the IDPA rule book regarding the machining of slide for sights not being acceptable for SSP.  Could someone at the shop please reassure me that my Shadow T is indeed SSP legal?  I would rather spend my time shooting rather than arguing with a Match Director at a sanctioned match over a silly IDPA rule.  Excerpt from the CZC website is as follows:

CZ 75 Shadow T BLACK (91703) 9x19
IDPA Approved! SSP Legal
Matt BLACK Slide And BLACK Poly Coat Frame..
Pre B Configuration Shadow Slide NO firing pin blocks.
Fully Adjustable Champion Rear Sight.
Fiber Optic Front Sight  (1.0mm Insert)
CZ 75 SA Style Short Dust Cover, Swept Hi Rise Beaver tail Frame.

The shadow T was produced as a factory gun .  You did not change the sight or Mill the slide so it should be SSP legal.  The only thing you may have to worry about, is if the total production exceeded 20,000 pistols prior to being discontinued.

Found the following on the IDPA forum:

The CZ Shadow T is a variant of an extensive Shadow line of pistols produced by CZ.   In the past HQ has lumped all variants of the CZ 75 into one  when calculating production numbers.  I don't think this has been changed.  With the weight limit and FLDC change in the rules the gun would certainly be legal.  The Shadow T has adjustable sights other Shadows come with fixed sights.  The CZ Shadow is the most popular pistol in IPSC Production worldwide.

The SP-01 Shadow T is just a variant of the SP-01 Shadow with adjustable sights and a trigger job.  It would be legal for IDPA SSP Division.  No MD at any Sanctioned Match is going to argue against the gun.
