« on: August 05, 2014, 02:02:23 AM »
Hi, does anyone know how to remove the Tristar T-100 front sight and what sight will fit on it?
TIA.

If it is a the same design as the Canik Shark compact you simply drivce out the roll pin with the appropriate punch and pull it out of the top of the slide, unfortunately no one makes front sights for these pistols. You can carefully drill it out and make it fiber optic.

Thanks Brian!
I was hoping someone has tried putting in a different front sight on theirs aside from drilling for fiber optic.

You could machine the original sight flush to the slide and that would leave the rest of the sight in the slide along with the retaining pin that holds the barrel bushing in place. then you could machine the front and rear of the slide for Novak sight dovetails. That would allow for night sights or fiber optics.

I'm sure if these would work someone would have already recommended them but out of curiosity could you use the canik/tristar sights from cajan gun works? They are about half way down the page item # 32050

I'll just pass on it. I think it needs a lot of time and tools which I don't have right now.
