Hi all,
I'm new here. I had an original CZ85 that i purchased in 1990 with the old style trigger guard and hammer.

I am looking at this used CZ 85 Combat. The individual selling it is the second owner and he can't tell me the manufacture date.

He is asking $600.00 Canadian. Would this be a good deal and would I be able to replace the sights (front sight i think is a dovetail blade) with aftermarket sights?

I'm wondering how old it might be.
The serial number is A915654
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks exactly like the CZ 85 Combat that is current on the CZ UB website here.
Thank you in advance.

The actual for sale item can be found here.

Need a log in to view that thread. It should have a two digit number beside the ejection port that will tell you the year of manufacture.

I wouldn't pay more than 450-500 US incl. shipping. What that is in Canadian $ i have no idea.

What Grendel said. Not sure if I would pay 500 U.S. since I can get new at about $550

Hi, Thank you for the responses. There is a number on the ejector port to the left of the serial number but I can't make it out in the picture I have.

I tried inserting the image here but not quite sure how to do that.

On the front of the slide on the same side as the ejector is the number 11 - a symbol of some kind and the a repeat of the serial number. Same numbers and symbol below it on the frame.

That should mean 2011. On my newer CZ's the year is the first two digits before the symbol on the frame. Nothing on the ejection port on mine. If I remember correctly those first two digits only appear on the frame on mine. Not the slide or barrel.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm pretty sure it is 2011.

$600.00 Canadian is $516.00 US

Bought a new 85 combat fully tricked out by CGW last year on GB for $770. Lucky, I know, since Cajun wants a lot more for same. No,it's not for sale.  I love it.

Lucky Lon also because you can have it delivered to your state !

The Canadian OP might be paying a slight premium because of their laws etc. I don't know.....

Yes, there are a few states where it is not easy to send and receive guns--but in all states,  must go through FFL dealers when crossing state lines.
