Odd question.

Hi guys. New member here. I've got a odd question. I'm not very educated on these rifles so I thought I would ask the experts. I'm looking at a CAI VZ2008 from a local guy. He claims he bought it 10 years ago and it has all Czech parts and a chrome liked barrel?  Does any of this make sense?  Thanks

He's lying if it is actually a 2008. Century didn't start making them till 2008.

Have YOU verified that it is a CAI Vz2008 or are you going on what the seller is telling you? Perhaps the "local guy" isn't educated on these rifles either & doesn't know what he has and is confused. Maybe you can get a Czechpoint Vz or one of the other builds for CAI pricing. If you do know, for sure, it's a CAI Vz2008 Mi-shooter is right... stick can't be ten years old.

It's possible that it's an ORF/AWO receiver like the first gen VZ2008s -- not sure when exactly AWO/ORF started making receivers but it was 2008 when Century first brought the VZ2008 to market w/ the AWO/ORF receiver, and receivers surely would have been available a la carte around then..  Don't know how they were marked though...  Possibly sold through Century with kits/Century included bare receivers with kits?
