My new CGWs 97B
« on: November 02, 2014, 01:32:45 PM »
All I can say is WOW!!!.  I wasn't sure I was going to post because I'll sound like everyone else who has dealt with David.  What a truly nice experience in dealing with David.  He was always very attentive and answered all my questions and quick to respond.

I purchased a 97B with  E conversion from CGW.  That's the standard accuracy package with the bushing.  I additionally had him mill the slide for a Kensight LPA, SAO with his trigger, ss hammer,  installed an extended Shadow mag release and an extended safety.  All in all one sweet pistol. There was a slight issue with the headspace but David was very quick to fix it.  I shot it last Friday and it performed flawlessly.  To say it's accurate is an understatement.  I roll my own which comprises clay powder and 200LSWC H&G68 design.  The 97 is incredibly accurate.   My 45 ACP gold standard to date had been my Les Baer Premier II super tac with the 1.5" guarantee at 50 yards.  The LB is very accurate.  After two hundred rounds through the CZ I think CGW's 97 is a bit more accurate with the ammunition I had developed for the LB.  Imagine if I spent some time developing a load for the 97.  It's an incredible easy pistol to shoot well.

Thanks David!!

Good to hear! I will be sending my CZ97BD in for the E conversion down the road. So i always like to see these types of posts.

If you have a chance please post some pictures of your CZ97BE, i for one would like to see them.

May your 97 treat you well.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Thanks everyone. I'm not much on pictures. I had both the hammer and trigger polished bright. Other than that it looks pretty standard from CGWs.

William: I had CGW do my 97B like yours, except for the extended mag release.  I also had him send the frame to APW Cogan to stipple the frontstrap and Hard Chrome the frame.  Mine loves my 200gr SWC handloads too.  I have some great 1911s too including a Les Baer and I would put the 97B up against any of them.

Mine is in process. I'm having nearly the exact setup performed. I plan to bench my USP tactical, custom springfield trophymatch and this 97 to conduct an accuracy evaluation. I cant wait!

Ayoungo good luck.  When do you expect to receive the 97b?  If it's anything like what David did for me you will really enjoy it.

I'm interrested on that accuracy evaluation you plan on doing. Be sure to post your findings

you're going to love the trigger along with everything else.  By the way the adjustable sight is great!  I just sent David my 75B today for a Pro-Package, new sights, reverse 11 degree crown plus some two tone cerakoting.  I'm hooked on David's skill.

Congratulations on the 97. I'm currently waiting for mine to show up at my LGS. I was told it's on backorder, so I have no idea when it will show up, (hopefully sooner than later.) Once I have it, I'm gonna be giving David a call to order up some parts for it. Not sure exactly what upgrades I'll be doing to it, but I need to keep it legal for uspsa L10. So I suppose the first step in that process is reading the rulebook to see what is allowed.

Nice! I'm going to be using mine as more of a bullseye gun. I was ready to order a Pardini when I came across these accurized 97s. Being that most of my pistols are CZs...I had no objections.

Pardinis are sweet.  I was thinking of getting one in 22LR.
