PCR LCI
« on: December 22, 2014, 11:44:39 AM »
For any of you like me that don't like LCI's especially when there have been issues reported with them I removed the plunger and spring and only put back the retaining sleeve and tested it this morning. As expected there were no issues at all. So I've removed one possible point of failure which is always a good thing.
I'm not recommending this to anyone, just reporting my experience.

I'm not a LCI hater but it would be nice to have a little panel to plug into the void like they have for Ruger MkIII pistols

I guess I'm not sure what the fuss is over the tiny tiny little hole left after removing the LCI. If you put the sleeve back in the hole is even smaller than the one that S&W leaves in the M&P and even with the LCI it isn't sealed. But, hey it's up to you guys what you do.
I prefer to leave it out and eliminate a failure point, but that's just me.

Congrats on your fix. I agree and have no use for LCI's, one of the deciding factors in my choosing the standard compact model.

Thank you for the info on your testing OP. It is good to see some live fire testing on this.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

I went with the PCR because I liked the decocker. That being said the same week I also picked up a Para 1911 Expert Commander, obviously without a decocker, just fickle I guess. Both have been flawless and will be carrying both.

Why did CZ add the LCI to the PCR? I really don't understand sometimes what these designers are thinking. Both the standard compact model as well as the PCR and P-01 are meant for concealed carry, but only the PCR gets the LCI? Why? I don't get it.  ???

The intended and likely original client for these was Czech Republic Police. Apparently it was required by them. I have no idea but the USA sportsmen market may be pretty small compared to government contracts they fulfill. It would seem so with the sporadic supply stream we receive here. Being a small market, they probably don't consider our expectations strongly for their government intended models.

With modern fabrication, I'm wondering when we can order a custom factory build. Fill out the form with options and in 4-8 weeks it's at your FFL. That would be one sweet way of getting what we want! I can dream, can't I?

Czech Republic Police.   Almost - Police Czech Republic = PCR.
When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

What a novel idea, like in the old days when you could order a car the way you wanted it, and without it costing you an arm and a leg either.

My custom build? Pretty simple. How about a PCR with the aluminum frame and high rise sights, but with manual safety, no LCI and ambidextrous or easily reversible mag release? Am I asking for too much here?
