Number 3
« on: December 05, 2014, 01:10:44 PM »
I just ordered my third CZ in a month and a half - I'm helpless. :)

I've got a 75 Compact (manual safety) coming and I want to set it up for carry (keep the DA/SA and carry hammer down). I'm thinking the RRK and SRS from CGW would be a good start and possibly a race hammer and sear. That hammer/sear combo is just plain sweet.

Not sure about sights yet. My old eyes are really starting to suck so I'm thinking a set of big dots would be appropriate. I don't have any experience with night sights, but my current carry gun has something similar to the big dot idea (XDm 3.8 in .45) and I shoot that gun very well at combat distances. Big fat front blade with good size dots.

Anyway, question for those of you that carry a CZ and use them -  how do you like the Mepro night sight combo? Are they worth the expense to check out? I don't mind wasting the money if I find I don't like them, but I thought I'd try and get some input. Thanks.

congrats!  and you got the 'di-CZese' pretty bad.   I have 3 CZ's myself and a Kadet kit to ride on two of them.    You can't go wrong with the CGW stuff!  have the race hammer, 13lb main spring, trigger pin in my PO6 and wow, what a difference.   I am getting a race hammer for my 40B and a few other goodies.     Anyway,  I have the Mepro's on the PO6 and love em,   I actually tried the tritium front sight one time , but took it off.  too small.    and what I really like is no matter what time of the day. those Mepro's are just dang easy to see!  I wouldn't hesitate on em at all.

cheers
K

I like the Mepro's on my Compact L.  Easy to pick up anytime of the day and they are holding up well.

I've got Mepro's on my Rami and Phantom and really like them. Day or nite they are easy to see. However, if I was to ever get another set of night sights I've thought about getting some Xs Sights. http://www.xssights.com/Search.aspx?TERM=Cz
Just to see what they are like.

I have Mepros on two of my compacts, the RAMI, the Phantom, the 75B, and 85B.  I like them very much.  Just make sure you get the right height.

Thanks guys - appreciate the feedback. I talked to David at CGW as well and I'll go ahead and give them a shot. It sounds like the daytime visibility is fine, which was my main concern.

Birds Away - I haven't seen optional heights for front or rear. Is that something I can specify when I order them? It seems like you'd need some way of tuning elevation.

Handgun2 - I almost went with a P06. My first CZ was a full size 75B in .40 - very nice shooter. Maybe I'll make it number 4. :)

The RRK is nice for the CZ's.  the hammers are well worth the investment too.

What is CZ #2?

It's my fun gun. I have a Springer base coming for a Burris FF so I'll get to play with a red dot shortly. I added CGW's OEM height front FO and it was pretty much identical to the original front blade. They both shot high and left so I recut the rear sight. Moved the top and the notch down .023 and it's pretty much dead on now. It'll do until the red dot arrives.

I'm 62 so retiring is a reality I'm not ready for yet. I think I'll keep working till I'm 67 - if SS is still there, I can draw max benefits. I need to finance my CZ's with something. :)
