CZ 75 recoil spring binding during disassembly
« on: December 04, 2014, 10:17:38 AM »
Need some guidance- have a CZ 75 Omega and it's difficult to disassemble as I think the recoil spring is interfering with the movement of the slide off the frame. When off the frame the recoil spring bows "frameward". I don't have any issue w/ my CZ 75 40s&w.

Is this an indication the recoil guide or spring needs replacement? Recommendations ?

All I've seen online says a bowed spring has no affect on anything.

Try turning the spring a bit. My 75B does that sometimes and all I do is turn it a little and it quits bowing.

If the spring has a "small end" where the coils are slightly smaller than the rest, that small end goes on the recoil spring guide first.  It may not have a small end of course.  Just a thought.

Well turned the gun upside down when disassembling, & it worked fine. Looking forward to shooting in an Idpa match.

Thanks for the guidance
