CZ 75B 9mm Retro Pistol
« on: December 13, 2014, 03:41:39 PM »
I'm really liking this one. Looks like it means business in a bare bones kind of way. Anybody have one? I don't see this on CZ's website. Kentucky Gun Co. has them in stock. Price seems kind of high but it looks like a limited edition.

Quite a bit cheaper at Buds. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/mobile/search.php?q=CZ+retro
Yeah... that price is more like it. Usually KGC is cheaper then Bud's. It really doesn't matter for me though. I already bought a CZ-75 Compact so I probably won't be getting one of these anytime soon, if at all.

I didn't say I wouldn't be buying any more CZ's, it just may not be this model. There might not be any of these limited editions available by the time I'm ready to buy. I have other firearm needs that are higher priority at the moment.

My only issue with the Retro is that its DAO. I do like how it looks though.

Edit: ^ This statement is incorrect. The CZ75 Retro is in fact SA/DA. My bad.

It's not DAO as far as I know. A lot of sites list a Sa/Da as DA. Must be quicker to type it that way I guess.

My only issue with the Retro is that its DAO.

The description says "double action" not DAO. Are you assuming it's double action only or do you know this for sure?

I have one. It's double action/single action. Definitely not Double Action Only. This pistol is accurate, right out of the box with Federal 115 Grain FMJ. The aluminum grips are very functional. I bought mine from Buds Gun Shop using the "make an offer" button. I got it for less then they are asking. Better jump on it.

Indeed that was an assumption based on several incorrect website listing it as DAO, that has now been cleared up by, fkienast. Thank you fkienast.

To bad i did not find this out sooner because there are allot of things to like about the Retro and it is not on the California safe handgun list (Facepalm).

I like the round trigger guard on this pistol.  For that reason alone, I'd prefer it over a regular CZ75 B.  However, I just don't understand why they didn't do the "retro" thing to the entire pistol.  It looks to me like it just hast a regular CZ75 B slide.  In order to be retro, I'd think that they would have at a minimum made the shape of the slide the same as the first versions of the CZ75 so that it would mate up with the frame properly and give it that vintage look.  As it sits, it looks like an old frame with a new slide.  They could have also done away with the FPB, but perhaps they didn't want to do that for liability reasons.  Of course that hasn't stopped them from producing the Combat, so perhaps that's not it at all.  I can understand them keeping the dove tailed front sight as that's a definite improvement.  I'm just debating on whether or not I should pull the trigger on this and I'm not sure.

Yes, same here. I wish the Retro had a regular slide to frame fit. The icing on the cake would be no firing pin block. Good looking gun to be sure..regardless. It's the Retro or a Combat for my next 9mm.

Maybe they will get it right in 2015 with a 40th Anniversary Edition.
