Which, if any CZ-75 Compact models have an ambidextrous mag release, or semi-ambidextrous that could be reversed? I've noticed that my standard model is not ambidextrous, and does not appear to be reversible.

However, the mag release buttons on the PCR/P-01 models is different from mine, and look like they might be reversible if the other side is the same shape hole.

The round mag releases are not reversible. The non-round or mag releases with the added "D" are reversible.

The back or flat side of the mage release always has the added "D" shape regardless of their reversibility as far as i have seen.

I can confirm that the PCR/P-01 are reversible. I am not sure about the "75 Compact" variants.

Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

My standard Compact model has the round mag release and the "D" shape on the other side, so it looks to be non-reversible. This is a shame, as the mag release is a bit too out of reach for my thumb to get a solid push. I have to tilt the barrel slightly towards my left to drop the mag. With some practice, I can manage but this is not the ideal way for me.

I know that CGW has made some extended mag releases from extended shadow mag release. The shadow extended mag releases are originally manufactured to be reversible. CGW cuts one side down to be round. This might not be great for carry but the option dose exist.

Wonder if CGW or CZCustoms has an extended mag release to replace the factory one with?

I feel I could drop the mag easier and more quickly if I could use my index finger instead of my thumb, hence the mag release on the reverse side. I've checked my grip and it doesn't look like the mag release being on the opposite side that it is now would cause any major issues or discomfort. When I hold the gun in my left hand, the mag release doesn't interfere with my grip there. I'd imagine it would be the same with my right.

I switch all my pistols I can to the right side and use my trigger finger.  For me it is faster and I can keep the gun pointed down range or at the next target I want to engage.  It seems my PCR and Shadowline pistols have the bolt staked.  I am taking them to my gunsmith to have him break the stake so I can reverse both mag releases.  Is there an easy way or a trick to braking a staked nut or bolt?

I have switched all of mine by turning the screw with a screw driver, the staking gives on the first few turns. Some have been staked more than others but the screw driver has always worked. I have read that it is a good idea to degrease the treads of the screw/plunger and the corresponding hole then use some locktite, especially if the pistol is intended for hard use.

For the life of me I have tried and can't get the darn thing to budge.  I will hand it over to my 'smith.  He should be able to brake it.  Why CZ stakes a part that is intended to be switched at the option of the shooter escapes me but there must be a reason.

Thanks

I would likely do the same if i encountered one as tough as you have described, better to be cautious that strip that sucker.  I assume that they stake them because most folks never even look at them. After reinitialization a few of mine unscrewed a bit from shooting so i degreesed and added some locktite, no movement since then.

Take the grips off and clamp the frame in a vice.  Get a good fitting screw driver with a square shaft.  Put a crescent wrench on the square shaft while you bear your weight down on the end of the screwdriver and turn the screwdriver shaft with the crescent wrench.  I have been able to pop free some extremely tight screws by using this technique.
