I picked up my TriStar P-120 almost 2 weeks ago and went to the range immediately. I was shooting with a few friends so I didn't have a chance to even clean it, much more determine it's accuracy. 200 rounds through the pipe with my practice ammo all went bang without any failure. I couldn't remember how heavy or bad my SP-01's trigger was, but I didn't think the P-120 was any better. DA on the P-120 was heavy and I thought was heavier than the SP-01. Anyway, here are some photos comparing the two, side by side.
P-120 and SP-01. P-120 sporting the rubber grips from SP-01
The serrated portion is thinner on the P-120. Dots on the sights are small.
Beaver tail is shorter. I feel a tiny bit of hammer bite when shooting the P-120
P-120 has a thicker steel guide rod. Barrel is thinner than the SP-01's
I've read that the internals of P-120 is nicer than SP-01's, but I don't think that's the case with mine. Comparing the internals of my SP-01 with what I see in this forum, mine seems to be a lot more polished. I don't see any tool marks on the side of the trigger bar like what I see in some threads here.
Sorry, this gun just came back from the range, hence why it was dirty.

Range Report:
The P-120 is pretty accurate for what it is. I shot 10 rounds at rest from 11 yards (in red circles). I was satisfied so I shot the rest offhand, fast paced. I'm no sharpshooter, so don't mind the flyers
My Take:
I like the P-120 a lot and have 0 regret buying it, especially for what I paid for it. It's a nice, accurate gun. Saying it is equal to SP-01 is stretching it though, much more saying It is better. My P-120 will not replace my SP-01 but it will see the range often. They look similar, but they behave differently. The triggers and the way the hammer breaks have distinct feel. There's a bit of a play on the P-120's slide, which the SP-01 don't have, or at least very, very, minimal. I like the SP-01 better as it is more refined.
