I have swapped the 40 top on the sp01 in sveral instance and have found it works. I also used the 9mm p01 magazine with 40 S&W ammo and found that worked, I did not do extensive testing and I am sure there may be some tolerance differecne but my opnion is that it works pretty good.
Only problem is you have to buy two guns

AH: And how many rounds of .40s you can hold in your SP magazin? My tip is when you holt 19/18 of 9Lugers you can have 16/17 in .40s.

For IPSC Standard good capacity :)

He has not buy second gun, only slide and barrell. I am not sure how it is with your legislativy but in Czechs law about guns and ammo it is possible.

I'm glad that CZ has plans for a .40.  9mm is good and hi-capacity 9mm is better, but hi-capacity .40 is definitely more better.  The .40 will truly be at home in the 41 oz SP-01.

Hopefully, the .40 will come out in a customized model with all the fixin's, like the Shadow.  I'll be in line for two, once the design mods have been tweaked.

The only specs I could suggest for a new .40 SP-01 are a slightly shortened dust cover like the 75 Combat II, standard tritium sights, lower paddle thumb safety levers like the 75 SA and TS, and a firing pin stop without firing pin safety like the 85 Combat.  Then it would be purrrfect.
