Who else has an EVO3 S1 that started life as an A1?
« on: January 30, 2015, 12:37:59 PM »
I noticed that both of my two EVO3 S1 pistols began life as a fully automatic A1 variant and was castrated so that it could be sold to us lowly civilians!  Check out my vid on it:

Keep in mind that the civilian version has already been out in Europe for at least the past 2-3 years so a 2012 date would not necessarily equate to an A1 origin. Does the bottom label with the A1 designation bear the same serial number as the top label and the EVO? Interesting observation.

Agreed.  Yes, serial #'s were the same.  Curious...

Well, I was on them like flies on sh!t the day they announced the release, and I have an EXCELLENT CZ Dealer!  I'll try to get a shooting video up next week.  Too much going on with the Super Bowl this weekend.  There are a few dealers taking waiting lists.  Mine says he is expecting to get between 3-5 a week for the foreseeable future.  Hopefully you won't have to wait long.

TF, you are in the US? The reason I ask if the semi-auto US compliant version HAS to be different enough from the select fire parts will not install on it and allow full auto fire. CZ-UB has a smei-auto version, as noted, in Europe for some time, BUT I have no idea how they limited it.

3-5 a week actually isn't that bad.  That's a lot better than I thought.  Someone on another forum said something that led me to believe that a batch had come in, and once they were sold, it'd be 6 months to a year before another came.

North Carolina to be exact!  I thought the same, but the older bolts and the labeling on the boxes is curious.

I suppose he might have meant until what that have is distributed, but I don't think so.  This is THE hottest item CZ has ever offered here, so I'm sure they are going to be in regular importation just like the P-07/09

The CZ Scorpion EVO took SHOT by storm and certainly is poised to become one of the hottest selling CZ products in a VERY long time, so shortages will occur. Don't forget CZ-UB is also filling military and police contracts around the world, so they have more to make than just US compliant firearms, even though we are a pretty decent sized chunk of the CZ market. ;) I think that we will se more EVOs coming in soon, and supply ramped up to meet demand.
