Clean it first!
« on: February 12, 2015, 01:26:08 PM »
The last thing you should do is clean your new gun before you test fire it, right? I looked at the Scorpion and figured, well, this is a big piece of machinery, probably gonna be a chore...*sigh*, let's get started.

Then I read the instructions. Bolt back, charging handle locked to rear. Push pin out, pull trigger unit back and up.

OK, so NOW comes the hard part, right?

Reach in, push bolt back with thumb, lift out.

Ok, NOW comes the hard...I'm done? That's IT?

That's it.

Clean and reassemble. I did need to use the longer rifle rod to run a patch through the bore, now I know why they threw in a Bore Snake!  I think this thing is easier to clean than anything else I own!
One small issue - I dropped the bolt on the carpet while cleaning it...and cat hair got on it. Tried to get it all off, but I'll bet the first few rounds smell like burnt cat hair... :o

Which part is serialized, upper or lower or did they do both? Be sweet if they make it just the lower trigger group. Be easy to sell uppers in different configurations or calibers since you are not selling  a serialized gun.

Upper is serialized. Lower is basically just a triggergroup/housing, cfr the M1 carbine

Talked to CZ-USA today, still waiting for ATFE response, and they haven't sold any factory Scorpion stocks. Only stocks out there are modified airsoft or what was sold on select fire versions. I am trying the single point sling for now, or will be next range trip.

I am guessing that's how it's supposed to work - not a whole lot of people down here to see face to face.

I have found slings in general to be confusing having never run one my self. I believe this is how they are generally used, with but stocks at least. This way if someone grabs your weapon they do not ring your neck as easily. It also allows better positioning is one needed to obscure one at their side under a coat.

Scorpion EVO Bonus pic. That is her don't mess with me face.  ;D
