new 75 TS sights

they need to be moved slightly to the right.

what have you used to move or remove them? i've removed the set screw and it still won't budge.

has anyone had to use one of those sight removal tools? TIA

I had to put the slide in a vise and ended up using a brass punch and a hammer to remove the factory rear sight

o.k. got it off with your advise and used a vise. ;D
it was really, really on there. could not find a brass punch and so it hit me, :o got a 1/4 steel punch and put a brass case on the end.
filed it down with a needle file and re-blued the slide and sight and  it looks great.for once i didn't f**k it up.

Good idea, ill remember this next time a brass punch is not doing the job. I have killed a few brass punches removing CZ rear sights in the past. I would rather ruin a case.

It's cave man... but... I use little 4-5" chunks of treated 4x4 wood. 

You can set the slide on one and the pointed corner of another one on the sight / dovetail.  And whack it with whatever you want.  Little hammer for drifting.  Heavy hammer for stubborn removal.  You'll never put a mark on anything.  No brass kisses or anything to blue. 

If you're adjusting always remember to tape the sight/slide in a way you can measure how much it moved. 

Even heavily taping the parts I've managed to mark things up with brass before.  I've done a few dozen with big dumb wooden blocks and never put a mark on any since.  It's stupid but it works.

i could just barely see on the slide that it went in from left to right so i went opposite to remove.
left to right from behind the gun.

I saw faint marks on my original sights on the right side of the sights from the dovetail, not on the left. This means they were installed from left to right as mentioned above. 

I always reverse to remove, and then go the same way.  This will not loosen up the one side of the dovetail to ensure they stay put.
