P07 Duty or P07
« on: March 07, 2015, 09:08:33 PM »
Just wondered the differences in the two versions. Is the trigger better in the new version etc. Have read a few say they actually liked the Duty better and just wondered why that might be? Thanks

Here is a good comparison video.

Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

I am one of the oddballs that actually prefers the earlier Duty model.

To me, the perfect combination would be the old Duty lower with the upper and hammer of the 2014.

My reasons for liking the Duty model better are as follow:
? Better feel in my hand. Even though 2014 has interchangeable back straps, something is missing as the original feels perfect in my hands and also feels like it has more grip. Perhaps it is because the rear checkering is spaced closer together than on the new?
? Smoother trigger. Even though my 2014 had a slightly lighter trigger pull, my Duty trigger was smoother, especially in DA (they were pretty much both shot equal amounts concerning round count).

However, I must give credit to the 2014 model for the following:
? More positive magazine ejection.
? Front slide serrations.
? Less aggressive trigger curve (though nowhere near being a deal breaker).
? Steel rear sight versus plastic.

It looks to me like the triggers and hammers have been swapped between the two models??

That was a clowning around picture I did with my previous P-07's where I swapped the uppers on them just to see how it would look between old and new.

Hey, if you don't have a lanyard loop on yours, how can you possibly hope to ever be cool. Lanyard loops are all the rage in Czech Police circles...I guess ???

OP- Thanks for asking- I also wanted to know. The feedback above & video were of great help, but question I have is from those who have both, or shot them- which is better for self defense or competition?

I currently have a 75B in 40, 75b Omega in 9mm & my latest acquisition a P09 in 9mm.
Like a midget at a urinal, I'll have to keep on my toes

Just my .02, I had identical results from both models; extremely accurate and flawless functioning regardless of what I fed them. My suggestion would be hold both of them if you get a chance, see for yourself if you notice any big difference between the two. Just think of the 2014 as more of an identical little brother to your P-09.

It is primarily cosmetic differences between them, and would be willing to bet that the majority of shooters would have mirror image results regardless of which one they were using.
