Long shots: P07
« on: March 11, 2015, 03:35:09 AM »
So, I just thought I'd share, my first time out today with my brand new p07and after about 30 or so of some bulk federal ammo through it I thought I would try out my carry ammo.   Just to make sure it would feed/cycle properly.  I mean, you have to feed the ammo that your life depends on at least once before you carry right?  Just to make sure you can trust it.  Well anyway, I thought, Hey I'm just going to run a mag of Hornady critical duty through this thing and call it an afternoon.   Now I was out shooting metal with some coworkers and there was a lone six inch popper target still up from an earlier rifle SHOOT at about 110yds away, and wouldn't you believe it?  I dropped that plate with the first shot!   Now, I know that I probably could never do that again with my first shot, but it was freaking cool to see that sucker drop on the first pull!  I think I made the right choice with this new p07.

Very nice! I sure love that *ring* of the steel, especially when it's not expected.

My P07 is more accurate than any of my other plastic framed pistols.

I believe my P09 will be as good, once I get used to it, get the loads tuned to it and just have some trigger time with it.

I'm sold on them.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Music to my ears!

Hold 11 inches high and try it a few more times.  Sure, it may have been luck this time, but I don't think the gun itself will prevent you from doing it again.  They are really good.  Try it on paper from a rest and I bet you will be surprised at how good a group you can shoot at 100 yards.  I was.

I agree!

And to the OP - great shot! I shoot at steel at 100 yds with pistols regularly, but usually focus on a much bigger gong (as compared to a small popper!). I did hit a 8.5x11 piece of paper 3/5 shots yesterday with my brand new p09, but that was sitting and using a table as support. Still that is really good for me and a reflection on the pistol.
