Reversing Mag Release on P07

I've searched, read, watched the Youtube video, and holy hell, I can still not get this.

Do I just need another set of hands? I don't want to beat up the pin by yanking the hell out of it with pliers if I am doing something wrong.

I can feel the spring inside the mag release depress when I push on it with a punch. Do I really need to use a lot of force on that detent before I can pull the pin that holds the release in place?

Any tips?

No, you only need a little prick to move the spring to the side so the pin will pull out!

How hard should the pin inside the frame be to pull it?

Not hard after you get the spring wire to the side. There is just a groove in the pin that must disenguage the spring.

Do you have to continue to press the spring and pin inside the mag release, or once you push it in, should the retaining pin be free to move?

That's exactly what I was doing with a small roll pin punch.

How hard do I need to pull up on the retaining pin? I was yanking on it like no tomorrow.

I changed mine out on my 09 last night and I had a heck of a time as well. The pin in  the release pushed in easy but I had to really rip on the pin in the frame to get it out. I'm guessing it will come out much easier next time.

I have not reversed a P series mag release as of yet. Dose the pin even need to be fully removed? I had assume it just nedded to be pulled up a bit for clearance.
