Yeah, I know what you mean about no safe queens. I have a couple, but this P-07 and my soon to be P-09 are tools. They look better with a little wear and tear on them.
I used the Rust-Oleum green camo paint that is compatible with plastic. It has a very tactile feel to it. At first, it showed light scuffing everywhere it was rubbed. With more handling now, the finish is evening out. It's only about a week and a half old and it still has a very faint smell to it so I believe it is still curing a bit. That's good as far as paint is concerned. Unless it is a catalyzed system, the slower cure should result in a tougher finish.
I looked for an OD one for weeks before I bit the bullet and just bought a black one. I'm more pleased with the new color every day!
