What type of mods can be done to a CZ75?
« on: May 15, 2015, 02:40:33 PM »
I have a CZ P01 compact and it's an excellent pistol!  I am in the market for a full size and have been reading some on here about the different mods one can do to a 75.  I was thinking of the Omega but read where fewer mods can be done.  Just what are all the mods that one can do with a 75??  I am not much into tinkering, so trigger work would go to a smith. Thanks for any info!!

Cajun Gun Works (www.cajungunworks.com) has a list of what can be done on the 75 platform.  I have a 75B Omega, and there are a couple of things I can't do, but at this point I really don't need anything else -- I just replaced some springs and the factory sights, did some polishing of the feed ramp and trigger bar, and DA trigger pull is much lighter, SA trigger is crisp, easier and quicker to acquire target with the FO front / serrated all-black rear.

Here are the items I got from CGW:

http://www.cajungunworks.com/ultra-lite.html
SPGK1 -- easy enough installation, need decent punch set, and having a solid working surface and clamp/vise helps

http://www.cajungunworks.com/sights_and_sight_sets.html
E-Z/D-9/40 --- removal of factory rear required a solid surface, clamp/vise, steel punch, and a heavy hammer; installation of new rear blade was easy;  removal of front factory and installation of new FO front was easy

And the Omega trigger system has fewer and simpler parts, so it's easier to disassemble in general.  There are videos here for disassembling the Omega trigger system (shown on a P-07 but works the same way on the 75B Omega).
