Degree of difficulty Ambi-safety vs Single Sided Decocker
« on: August 03, 2015, 05:14:45 AM »
I should have some time this fall to work on a pistol.  I've got an Ambi safety SP-01 and a single sided decocker P01 that I'm willing to tune.

As a background, I've worked on my 75 B, converted to SA and made it a complete range pistol.  So I've got some mechanical skills.  ???

I always had a little bit of difficulty getting the detents back in place on my 75 and Compact L.  So that's what's making me shy away from the SP-01, since there will be two of them.  However, I've read plenty of decocker installation difficulties.

In your experience was it easier to work on an ambi safety or single sided decocker?

The other thing I'm contemplating (if I choose the SP-01) is whether to install a DA/SA trigger on a safety model or just to get a SAO trigger.  Any thoughts?  Thanks!

Just in case you're curious.

Complete polishing, replacing hammer, springs and pins.
