Thanks all...  I really can't express how much this particular CZ platform continues to impress me...  the photos may not show all the wear/tear this weapon has endured so far, but believe me, during my weekly training ops that I've used it in over the past 4.5 months (and +10,000rds) it has seen everything from just being banged around all my other kit while sling-carried for miles on foot patrols and run & gun drills to being completely submerged in water, dropped multiple times to the ground from standing, caked in mud/sand, ops in heat/cold/rain, hundreds of rounds fired in fast succession, fed from multiple types of STANAG compliant magazines, not cleaned for weeks (the entire gas block/tube area turned GREEN from the corroded copper fouling!) and then used/fired again, etc...  not to mention this weapon goes with me as EDC everywhere in a dedicated backpack (can post pics if there is an interest in how I have it set up), in/out of my vehicle....  and so far not ONE malfunction...  that's ZERO failures of any kind...  now, I don't abuse this weapon, but I surely do not baby it...  I treat it much like the M16 I carried through RVN back in '72...  a tool that does a job, and with a minimum amount of maintenance can continue to do it well...  I also want to put a word in here for the EOTECH 516 mounted on this weapon...  with all of the negative press this (brand of) optic has been getting lately, it also has endured everything the 805 has, and has held BZO without a problem...  love my EOTECH's (516, EXPS2's), and my 805...  can't wait for the carbines to become available...

That's very interesting - you have been able to transition to multiple environments in the last several months for this testing? You're doing VERY well to do many miles of foot patrols at your age - I was born during VietNam and I'm not exactly a young man anymore either. Has anyone els on your ops had the experience with the BREN, and what did they say?

I'll attempt to reply in order for clarity...

Yes, the geography here in my area over that time frame has provided a wide range of ambient environment from hot-humid-90's summer to more recent sub-32 degree temps with winter precip...  the 805 has been out in it all...  it has most likely fared better than I have, which leads to the next response...

Thx... I have tried to do my best to stay in the best shape possible by many different means (nutrition, exercise, non-smoker/drinker, etc...) and work out in my home gym daily in addition to my "weekend warrior" training...  I do a lot of hiking/camping during the year and I mil-train on several hundred acres of heavily wooded private property...   I am solidly north of the 60 mark but don't really feel it...

And as for how others of my cadre judge my/the BREN, I would say most feel as I do now and even praise it at times (there was much skepticism at first), as they have now witnessed it perform at my side during our training, and have fired mine...  this even though none of them have an 805 for their own, as most use AR/M4 platforms of some description just as I did before my 805 came along...  I plan to continue to put the BREN through its paces to see how it fares in terms of longevity based on the amount of use I subject it to...

Post redacted, insulting and profane. Warning, do not do this again.
