Bren carbine weight
« on: May 27, 2016, 09:46:43 PM »
Can anyone confirm the correct weight of the 805 carbine? The CZ website lists it as 8.02 pounds, but there are a lot of other places that list the weight as 8.5 pounds. Which is correct? Thanks.

Don't have a bren yet, but I would assume the heavier weight...

Why? -- the 14" barrel seems to be the standard spec for CZ-UB full auto configuration, so +2 inches of barrel steel.
However, it could be that dropping the full auto and burst trigger components is where/how the weight was reduced as well -- but nearly 1/2 lb in just that seems high.

Weight also might be w/ and w/o a cheek riser.

Maybe someone can check on a postal scale?

With no mag, my FDE carbine weighs 8lb 2.8oz.  Add 4oz for the aluminum magazine, and you're probably close to that 8.5 pound number.
