My stock satin nickel compact will go on safe at the half cock. The safety will also work from this position (the trigger is disengaged).
My SA 1911 and .22 revolver will not fire from the half cock. That seems like the preferred design to me. I wonder if the 75SA will drop the hammer because the the hammer was designed as DA and then converted to SA? Seems to me that the half cock is designed to catch the hammer as a last resort should the hammer slip from full cock.
