cz 75 SA stock over travel screw
« on: December 09, 2015, 08:26:32 PM »
Started reading the forum because I recently got into CZs. I am semi adept with 1911s but need help/hint with my CZ75 SA (stock new). How the heck does one put that tiny screw (2 provided with the gun) in the back of the trigger and turn it?? The smallest allen wrench I have is still too long (on the short leg) to be used in the trigger guard.
I can not turn the screw or better described, the hex head screw + the lenghth of the allen wrench is longer than there is room behind the trigger. Is there a trick to this or do I need to make an allen wrench with a 4mm short leg or take the trigger out?? Thanks.

Haven't messed with CZ overtravel screws, but typically, they go in through the front of the trigger and are adjusted from there.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Welcome to the Forum from an EX SoCal Native
Not sure what Trigger you have, but here's where my Over Travel Screw is:

If you have two Wrenches, I'd bet you have both an Over Travel and a Take-up Adjustment Screw
The Short Arm of the Allen Wrench for the Over Travel Screw will fit between the Trigger Guard and the Screw
To set your Over Travel, turn the screw clockwise, a quarter turn at a time, and when the Trigger will not drop the Hammer, turn the screw one half turn counter clockwise and you should have it set correctly

^^^
Thanks for the pic and details. Mine is the stock trigger. Did not come with any wrenches, just the two little screwws in a plastic bag were all that I got with the new gun. When I looked at it (with my old eyes and no glasses) , there are two holes on the trigger. one in front like the pic above and another on on the back of the trigger. It appeared to me that the hole in front of the trigger was not threaded. I guess I thought wrong. Will give it another try.

When you do get the O.T. screw in and adjusted,  be sure to loc-tite it in place.  It will eventually move as you shoot and suddenly you won't be able to drop the hammer when the screw moves.

That screw can be tricky. I have a set of Performance Bicycle hex wrenches from when I was a bicycle mechanic, and they work perfectly for those hard-to-reach metric hex screws. You can find them on the PB website for about $12.50. Definitely loc-tite that screw once you have it adjusted 'cause they love to shake loose.

Good luck!
