New CZ 83
« on: March 27, 2016, 10:58:33 AM »
Howdy all,
Been awhile since I've posted here.  I just added my 4th CZ to my collection.  Picked up a new CZ 83 on gunbroker.   Hard to strip at first as is different then my other pistols.   Cleaned and re-lubed then went to range.   Love the gun, recoil is very manageable and it fits my hand like a glove!   Can't wait to put more rounds through it.

I'll attach pics if i can ever figure it out.

If you use a smartphone, the Tapatalk app is the easiest method for posting photos straight from your device's photo library. Looking forward to seeing it. Sounds like it's one of the new production ones (2015)?

I wasn't aware they were still making them?   I'll have to look into the tapatalk thing.    Not to be critical of this board but pic posting seems to be somewhat archaic compared to other message boards.   Or could just be i'm technically challenged :)

If you look back to forum posts from around the end of last year, you'll find that these new production ones started showing up then. CZUB did stop production (not just discontinued export to the States) 3-4 years ago but one of the forum posts indicated a large enough order was requested to resurrect some kind of production that may just be for a limited period. Yes..the photo posting via a computer and using a hosting site is initially a bit complicated but once you done it, it's not so bad. However, the Tapatalk app is much easier and straightforward to use.

Once you know what to pull it is easy but without instructions that would be a challenge. The internet is a big help here. If you ever get a PPK you know exactly how to disassemble it.

To the left of "Write a reply" is the extras icon (+ sign inside a circle). That's where you access the icons for camera, photo library (looks like two peaks), attachments, etc. Touch one to do what you want to do. With photos from the library, you will see the code for how it's done when using a computer. Give it a try; you can always edit and delete as needed.

CZ is manufacturing the CZ83 again in two versions: a 13 round version and a 10 round version for California and other ban states. The 13 round is matte finish, and the 10 round is gloss blue.  It is identical except the mags are blocked at 10 rounds.  It is one of the few .380s on the approved firearms roster for CA DOJ.  I just picked up a 10 round version, but I had 3 round mags since ai had my first CZ83 in the mid 1990s.  Loaded with Buffalo Bore 90 grain JHP +ps (305 ft lbs from the CZ) it is my EDC piece. It is my favorite handgun to shoot.  I like it more than my Glock 19 I have had since 1995!
