Why no alloy frame full sized?
« on: January 12, 2016, 03:32:16 PM »
Why isn't there a SP-01 aluminum version or just a full size? I would love to have a SP-01 omega, or just an aluminum half dust cover. It seems like a full sized, but a lighter, full sized pistol would be up a lot of peoples want list.
snakeye, no worries, I don't need someone in a leotard. :)

Great question, been wondering why for years. The Canik L-120 is about as close you can get right now.

Doesn't the P-09 serve that function?

Every CZ lover needs to try out a P-09. I would have never guessed I could like a poly framed pistol this much :)

No it does not.

I tried my friends P-09. I wasn't a super big fan. I just want a lighter (ish) full sized. Plus, I have a ton of magazines for the metal framed guns that I don't want to buy more specifically for the poly framed ones.

You could try a Tristar L-120 or T-120 if you're not opposed to having a clone. I'm very happy with my T-120.

I would lobby hard against a full-sized aluminum-framed cz!

Aluminum is the worst of both worlds. It's not as light as polymer while at the same time being weaker than both polymer and steel. I would go the other direction and say eliminate all aluminum and bring on steel-framed p01s and PCRs. I know the 75 compact is steel, but it has that butt-ugly stubby beavertail. My grail gun would be a steel p01.

Nope. Just not the same. Have a Phantom and a P09, but l like the feel of the L120 better.

I would like to see a light weight 75.
