When folks start down that road of lightening springs to reduce trigger pull, does anyone polish the sides of the hammer, the sear, any part that turns in relation to the frame?
Does anyone use special lubricants (like the ones using Teflon in a light oil carrier)?
I can remember working on my S&W 586. Not only did I adjust the springs but I also polished the sides of the hammer and trigger (where you couldn't see them) and the small rectangular piece (been a long time but I think it was called a rebound slide?? I remember it had a spring in it and was down near the bottom of the frame - it was over 35 years ago) in the frame.
I mean, if you reduce the spring power then reducing internal friction should help the reduced power springs still do their job - easier/faster.
