Sig 226 mags in a P-07
« on: February 01, 2016, 10:02:19 PM »
On a whim the other night I stuck a 226 magazine I had snap caps loaded in into my P-07 to see if it would hand cycle. Much to my surprise, it locked up with just a little wobble. I hand cycled a few rounds without a hitch.

So tonight at my weekly indoor match I decided to try that mag out to see if it would work with live rounds. It did. The first 17 rounds I fire in this video are from my P-07 with a MecGar 18 round P226 magazine. Since I have a bunch of Sig magazines I plan to continue to see how they run in my P-07. Might save me some money. I did not shoot to slide lock so I don't know if that works just yet. I'll update this thread as I go along. The video is in this thread: http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=74626.msg556742#msg556742

It is a know fact that the CZ 75 mags will function just fine in the P-07 and slide lock does operate properly as well. They can be had for 1/2 the cost of standard P-07 mags. I've used them in my own P-07 without a hitch at the range but for carry /defensive use I would not substitute anything but the mag designed for the gun.

I know all this. But I don't have -75 mags and I do have a plethora of Sig mags. I agree that carry/duty guns should use dedicated 07/09 mags. Just offering this up so that guys like me looking for a bunch of extra training/competition mags might save some money if they already have Sig mags.

That is interesting. I also have a number of SIG 226 mags stashed away.  Have you tried the inverse? Will CZ P-07 mags work reliably in a SIG 226?  That could create some interesting possibilities for those who carry two guns on occasion.

P07/09 mags won't work. Too big to fit in mag well.
