Is this a problem? CZ75B Stainless slide rail
« on: February 13, 2016, 11:29:57 AM »
The slide has felt rough since I bought it a week ago brand new.
I took it apart today and noticed what looks like a nick in the frame that goes up through the slide rail on the right side.

I fired about fifty rounds out of it the day after I bought it and it was 100% reliable.

It's normal, but I can't remember the purpose of it now.

Seems like the cut in the frame is there to make room for a pin but it seems odd that the cut would go all the way up through the slide rails too.

It's common to some degree on every 75 design I have seen.

CZ'ssteel pistol frames are investment cast and that is likely a mold seam or some sort of mold artifact. Nothing to worry about. As Angus once commented, CZ frames are 'tough as woodpecker lips'.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a bleep

If you want to make your CZ (stainless especially) feel so much slicker, buy some lube called triflow and put some on the rails.

Many years ago, when I was carrying my Ruger speed six stainless steel a lot I would first lube with 3n1 oil, then drip/spray triflow into the internals where the parts rubbed the frame and each other while cocking the hammer, pulling the trigger, etc.

You could feel the difference between just lubed with 3n1 oil and lubed with triflow.  Much slicker.

Now that I have that trigger pull ga. I need to pull some of those bottle out of where ever I put them years ago and see if they make a difference on my P07/P09.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Thanks guys.
If everyone says it's not a problem then it must not be a problem.  And it has functioned flawless so far.

Maybe eventually through use the nick will wear down to be smooth.

I've been occasionally putting drops of Slip2000 on the rails and that seems to be loosening it up quite nicely.

I'll look into getting a bottle of Triflow.  Can never have too much lube.   8)

That line is where the CNC cutter goes into the frame to form the slide lock spring purchase. Normal stuff. No worries with that one.

What I've got is about 30 years old.  I've used it on two guns.

Worked like a charm on the Ruger stainless steel Speed Six.

Not so good on the M1A.  I put some on the M1A one day and on the second or third shot the extractor, spring and ball went flying out of the bolt and landed several feet away.  Luckily we were shooting on a slate pile and it was easy to find.  I wiped the triflow off, put it back together and never had another problem with it.  Thirty plus years later that extractor has never come out again.
