CZ 75B Identification - Assistance requested
« on: February 09, 2016, 06:19:31 PM »
Hi,
I have found a CZ 75B (used), in very good condition. It has MRI - Minn., Mn. on the right side. Could anyone advise me as to the era of this gun? It of course does not say Kansas City on it.
Any information appreciated.

On the slide, right behind the ejection port, you should see an oval with two numbers in it. That's the date stamp.
A picture if possible would also help.

Probably around '94 on the oval above the ejection port for that import mark. Next question...is it a "transitional"? [emoji4] Photos would be nice.

I had a 75 Compact with MRI on it. It was made in 94 and was not a transitional.
MRI was the importer for early CZ's.

I bought the gun. It shows no sign of ever being fired. It was acquired from a collector's estate. It was built in 1994 from the date stamp. Could someone give me more information on the "transitional" models from this era?
Thanks

The early CZ 75's did not have a firing pin block and had a round trigger guard.
The transitional's did not have a firing pin block either, but have a trigger guard shaped
like the current models.
Would like to see a pic of it!

I have photos, as soon as I figure out how to post them to a hosting site..
I also just replaced the original plastic grips with CZ factory rubber grips. Huge improvement.

Wow. That almost looks like it's never had a round thru it. Looks great.

Very nice and unmolested. I don't know what you paid but you got a very nice gun there. I did a little enhancing on the photos to bring out all the goodness, hope you didn't mind.

This gun has quite a history. I disassembled it as soon as I got it home to fully inspect it. I could find no powder residue, and the ramp is as you see in the photo. The only thing missing was lubrication. No sign of grease, oil, or grime an any part. No signs of wear on any parts. I lubricated it, and it runs like a dream.  I have a 2075 RAMI BD which I alternate with my P07 as my every day carry gun. I am sure that I will carry my 75B some before warm weather.
I fired the 75B more today, what an incredible piece. VERY accurate.
I appreciate the comments, and the photo enhancements were great!
$400.00 as you see it. No box, only the one magazine. Still glad to get it considering it's history..

Thanks,
Hillbilly

I would be interested in hearing some of the history when you get a chance.
