A friend has purchased a new in the box CZ70, 1980 build. The problem is as follows.
When you chamber the first round you can pull the trigger all the way back until stops, gun will not release the hammer, if you release the tension on the trigger and allow it to move a slight bit forward and then depress trigger again, it will fire. This only happens on the first round, after the first round fires, the rest of the rounds will fire normally.
I have removed the grips an soaked the total firearm in mineral spirits to remove all of the old grease. Then relubed. All functions work as they should but once you load the first round into the chamber the hammer will not drop until you depress the trigger a second time. So far I have checked it with 3 different mags (all factory) and have pulled the grips off of my CZ70 and both appear to work in the same manner, what am I missing. In chambering the first round, I let the slide go back at full force and have checked to see that it is seated all the way. Need some advice.
thanks rich
