Loving My new P-06
« on: April 12, 2016, 11:09:40 PM »
I had been wanting one forever. It all came together and I picked it up 2 weeks ago. I have it partially Cajunized and will finish it this weekend. Spring kit, Extended Firing pin, SRS, Race hammer, SS guide rod, 85C trigger, Mepro sights from factory and Lok Black Diamond grips and new leather. I also got the 8rd Rami mag and put a CZ rubber bumper base on it for more concealable carry. It shoots great and is maybe a little more manageable than my 75B .40 which seems odd but it is true. I get less flip with the shorter barrel for some reason. It may just be my grip on it. I've put over 300 rounds thru it with no FTF or FTE. I've run plated 165's, Acme red 180's and assorted factory SD rounds thru it. It and my relatively new PCR are becoming my favorite shooters. For years I shot a Sig 229 .40 and this holds it own with the Sig.

I know exactly what you mean, Sun.  My P-01 is more reliable, just as accurate and more comfortable to shoot than any of my SIG P-series pistols.  The P-06 is definitely on my wish list.  I'd love to see some pics of how yours shoots.

The P-06 has become the jewel of my collection by a hair. For whatever reason, mine came with Meprolight sights. And, yes, the really are garbage disposals that will eat about anything without a hiccup.

Been thinking about buying the SP-06 a/k/a the SP-01 in .40S&W . . . heart wants it bad, wallet wants a break.

Same here. Got the P-06 in March. 300 rounds of 200 grain Blue Bullets and about 100 of factory ammo. No issues. Changed the rear site with CZ custom H-Tac sight. Also use the RAMI mage for concealment. Last night u installed the CGW Duty spring kit with extended firing pin. Will test tonight at local IDPA match. Now saving for an SP-01 tactical in 9mm.

I'll do my first bench shooting with it this weekend. I'm betting I'll be impressed. So far all has been off hand with most shots being at 3 second or less intervals. If I throw out the flyers I caused, you know when you do it, it was all within four inches at 10 yards. It's a defensive gun so off hand is what really counts. My favorite shooting is multiple steel plates at 25 yards. My dad was a deputy sheriff and he always said "put 'em all on a paper plate and you'll get the job done"

I thought I was done with .40 until I caught a deal on a used P-06. It was so cheap I couldn't pass it up. Turns out I like shooting it better than my P-01. Sold the P-01 this week as it was just sitting in the safe. Love my P-06, getting a 10x bushing for it soon.

Here's the pkg. Cajunized w/ the old style trigger, SRS, Race hammer, Rami 8 rd mag and Lok grips. I shot 40 rds. with my elbows rested, at a 3" Shoot n' See target at 12 yards. The first shot was "pumpkin on a post" and it hit at 6:00 a quarter inch in the black. So I moved POA to the center and fired away. 34 rds obliterated the top half, and 5 went to the left of the circle. I was shooting 165 Raniers over 8.2 gr of #7. COL was 1.125" with Fed. Match primers. The holster and mag pouch came from Holsterama. I'll get a pic of the target posted next week when I get back home.
