CZ 805 stock question
« on: February 05, 2016, 10:13:11 AM »
Hi folks, new member here.  I bought a CZ 805 Bren a bit ago.  I like the platform a lot (and most CZ offerings).  I would like to SBR the 805.  My question, has anybody compared the original skeleton (folding) vs the newer collapsible stocks?  I like the simple look of the earlier one, but concerned it may be too short of a length of pull.

For those that have compared the two, which do you prefer and why?

My intended use is range gun.  I have other platforms for other purposes.

Thanks

I wish I could say something other than, no, never did, but perhaps someone can chime in here. Welcome to the board!

length of pull isn't much of an issue with the original, it's similar to an ar15 A1 stock, but check weld and optic height may be less than stellar if you plan to use AR height optics. all in all, I like the newer collapsible stock, it works and it fits and that is what is most important to me.  the original ones do have a cool aesthetic appearance though

Thanks BisonWorld and thank you armoredman.  Well, I ordered one of each.  I'll do a little review when they come in to help out others, figure out which one I want, and sell the other.

Not much of a difference. Both plastic as hell. I'm gonna sport my skeleton on my SBR. And cheek pad on a 16".

Once you see them. You'll understand its aesthetics. Not ergo's.

Honestly. I just wish the rear heads were aluminum. I bought 4 rear heads. I'm expecting to break them like I broke almost every scar stock( I have 5 extras, all have issues)

Wow, that's disappointing. Thanks for sharing.  Off topic, but did FN stand by their product?

Not exactly sure of the context of your question, but if you're asking what the 'rear head' is...  it's the polymer piece that connects a stock or brace tube adapter to the rear of the receiver:

What he said^

And as far as FN... Didn't feel like sending my entire rifle in for one part. FN/Browning accepts no less than entire firearm.

I bought many extras of MGW

I have 2 of each type of Bren 805 stock as well

New to the Forum and my apologies if this question has already been answered but is this part not the correct rear head to mount the adjustable stock to the SBR pistol? If not is there a source and part # for the correct piece?
Thanks!

Chalkpilot: That is the part you will need to mount either of the two CZ stocks to the 805 Bren.

I went with skeleton stock for my sbr. we'll see how it goes in 3-4 months. def seems that one would want to use optics that are lower than ar style height. not a problem for me. pics in the future and thanks for the info on here!
