New Scope on 453 American and Ammo Test(pic heavy)
« on: March 23, 2016, 10:07:25 PM »
I posted some ammo (CCISV, Geco, NormaTac) test targets shot with my 455 Varmint rifle shot at the range recently. I also recently purchased a new Hawke Vantage SF 6-24x44mm scope for my 453 American and did the same ammo test with the new scope. Pics shown are of the old scope setup and the new scope setup. After mounting the new scope, I took the rifle to the range (after using a laser bore sighter) to see if I was on paper. First shot was on paper and after making adjustments on the scope shooting CCISV; I shot the targets posted. I ran a bore snake thru the rifle between ammo changes and did not change the windage or elevation settings after sighting in with the CCISV ammo. I am happy with the results. The 453 American was my first CZ purchase and is a great shooting rifle and I love punching holes in paper with it. Thanks for reviewing my post.

Very nice shooting. Do you think the 453 trigger is helping to shrink the groups compared to the 455 targets posted?

Might have to try the Geco. Both your CZs were grouping well with it.

az_cz, When I go to the range to shoot, I do not use the set option on the 453. I really like to shoot both rifles with the triggers in their setup when I purchased them and that makes my day at the range more enjoyable.
