Once in a while Jerry puts out a video on a tangent from what you would expect. I thought this one was good. But I am from the Nintendo and Atari generation.

I saw that to and no that's not his usual grip from what I have seen from him.

According to his 2014 video... Yes, That pretty much is his grip for a light framed semi-auto.
He even points out that he adds grip tape to the front of the trigger guard.
