Kadet .22 Conversion Slide on Ebay
« on: May 09, 2006, 05:18:22 AM »
I noticed just a used Kadet .22 slide on Ebay this morning starting price at $100.00.  No magazines or box with it.

If the price stays low enough, you can always get mags from CZ fo $34.00 each.

If you don't have a Kadet Kit, I urge you to consider one.  They're a joy to shoot and after 1000 rounds, I've not had either a FTF or FTE using Federal HV HP bulk pack ammo for $9.00 (550 rds) from Wal-Mart.

            Regards,

            Steve

I have a love/hate relationship, even close to a S/M-relationship to my Kadet.
No problem whatsoever with my 9mm 85B, but the Kadet recently started to trouble me. From working good, it has now turned on me, as if being possessed by a hippie-pacifist spirit.
After approx. 2500 rounds of various ammo-brands, I get FTF's (Feed AND Fire-failures), FTE's (Extract AND Eject) combined with several stovepipeing. 3 out of 5 rounds. -Oh, not to forget, on my newest mag, the slide won't lock after the last shot. >:

I would say, be careful of buying used Kadets, eventough they may sound cheap.

You are certainly correct is saying that one should be aware of buying a used Kadet upper since there may have been some "work" done to the upper in getting it to fit.  We all know there's nothing more dangerous than a wannabe gunsmith with a Dremel!

Sorry for your recent problems with your Kadet Kit--let us know how you fix it.

A lot of your problems could be ammo.

Some .22s, not just Kadet Kits, don't like a lot of the cheaper stuff that's out there.  I've had consistent problems with bulk-pack ammo in a number of different .22s.

Remington lead bulk-pack is particularly bad, and leads up the barrel rapidly.

Try some better ammo, if you've not already done that, and then experiment with different brands. You might find some of your problems going away...
