I would think so if you want to be able to remove the barrel on disassembly.

If you can find a 6" with the right Barrel Lug configuration, then, yeah, why not

I'd put a full length 16" barrel and a foregrip to the rail.

It can be done but you have to remove one of the lugs off the barrel.
