In KY cops never even ask. Many of us storage a photo of our tax stamp on our phones, just in case. It's my responsibility to comply with the law, not the sellers. In my state, I am legal having the stock prior to the stamp, as long as I don't assemble it. I have an AR and an AR pistol. I can easily switch uppers. I don't but I can.
