Recoil spring for P09 suppressed?
« on: June 07, 2016, 01:51:30 AM »
Well my urban grey suppressor ready is at the LGS and I will be adding all of the CGW parts before too long. What I want to know is what recoil spring should I run suppressed and not suppressed? I am loading to about 130 power factor with 147's.

Un-suppressed I was looking at the 11,12,13 springs (my shadow uses an 11lb) so don't really have an idea what the P09 uses.

Suppressed I was thinking factory unless it won't beat the gun to death and I'll just use the lighter spring but figured that the suppressor would increase slide speed.

So 11 lb seems to be what people are running for minor loads just don't know about the suppressed aspect of it.

Also my googling skills are lacking today. Does the P09 uses Shadow/SP01 recoil spring? I see on CGW they don't sell an 11lb for the P09.

Good luck with all that. Mi P09 would not run well with light loads and the #15 CGW spring which is a flat captured spring.

I say all that, but mine had a fair amount of drag on the slide via the front dust cover. This has been modded, but I have not tried the lighter spring again, back to the #18 or whatever it is. Factory is 20 as I recall.

Your mileage may vary.

Really? I was watching videos and a guy was testing recoil springs. The 11lb was working well with his minor loads. I guess I'm gonna have to call David and see what he says.

Please let us know when running a compensater. With miner loads factory spring causes stove pipes 13 lb Cajun is the ticket. JMO.
